hi I'm Brent wall president of all-star driver education I know that getting your driver's license can be very intimidating at first but stick with me I'm gonna show you some easy steps in getting it the all-star way so where do we begin well in the state of California you must be fifteen and a half years old to obtain your provisional permit although you're required to go through driver's ed in order to receive it so driver education is not all about driving actually most your time will be spent here in the classroom there videos interactive games and activities as well as reading and working in this textbook for a total of 25 hours over a three week course you can take our in-class driver ed portion where you'll learn about traffic laws emergency situations and operating a vehicle alternatively you can take our online course which will cover the same course material at your own leisure so to sign up you can either sign up online or via our call center upon completing driver's ed you will receive your driver ed certificate of completion you'll need to bring that in addition to the following to the DMV in order to take your permit test you'll need documents providing proof of ID and birthday legal us California residents Social Security and then you'll need to pay a 33 fee and of course yourself gather these things head over to the DMV will meet a 48 question multiple choice exam assuming you passed was 75 no less than 38 questions correct you'll receive your permit it's time to practice your driving by state you're required to get behind the wheel lessons with a certified instructor you'll need six hours of behind the wheel time with an instructor but you'll still need 50 hours of supervised driving at home ten of which has to be done at night before you can move on we're almost there assuming it's been six months since you received your permit you've completed driver's ed and you've finished all 50 hours of behind the wheel you're ready for the road test during the road test you'll be asked to do a series of parking maneuvers and will be deducted points for errors you'll then head off onto the roadway where you'll be tested for every major aspect of driving in the city and expressway finally you'll come back to the parking lot and assuming you've done well you'll pass your road test well you made it thanks for sticking with us and now you got your license the all-star way
